Face Prep for Radiesse Filler Injection

RADIESSE®

Dermal Filler to Smooth Wrinkles and Folds for Face and Hands.

RADIESSE is a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin. It is injected through a small needle and placed under the skin. Immediately, this filler works to add volume under the skin and over time, the benefits of RADIESSE continue by stimulating your body’s own natural collagen. The natural results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients, making the treatment results both immediate and long lasting.

What is RADIESSE?

RADIESSE® is a dermal filler that temporarily adds volume to help smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the creases that extend from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth).

RADIESSE is the only dermal filler available composed of calcium-based microspheres, and has been shown to stimulate the natural production of collagen, for results that may last up to a year or more in many patients.

RADIESSE is the first and only filler deemed safe and effective by the FDA to correct lost volume in hands.

RADIESSE is made of tiny calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. The calcium microspheres are similar to
minerals found naturally in the body so allergy testing is not required. Over time, the body absorbs the microspheres and gel, leaving behind only natural collagen.

How Does It Work?

FDA APPROVED. CLINICALLY PROVEN.

Once injected, RADIESSE plumps the skin to give the appearance of a smoother surface. Over time, RADIESSE works to stimulate the body to produce collagen naturally. Ultimately the body absorbs the product and leaves behind the natural collagen for long-lasting results. It is particularly successful in treating:

  • Smile lines: also called the nasolabial folds, are the lines that run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth

  • Marionette lines: the lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth

  • Corners of the mouth: also called the oral commissure, if these are turned downward it can make you look as though you're frowning

  • Pre-jowl fold: the area on either side of the chin, where skin can sag due to loss of facial volume

  • Chin wrinkles: horizontal lines that can form on your chin and distract from your smile

  • Hands: restore lost volume, minimize visibility of veins and tendons

  • Are Botox injections safe?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved and injections are relatively safe when performed by an experienced injector. It has proven to be a successful and valuable therapeutic protein when dosage, frequency of treatment & variety of treated clinical conditions are considered. The best way to ensure you receive the results you are looking for is to only receive injections from a highly experienced provider, such as the medical and nursing professionals at Ideal Image.
  • When will I see results from my Botox injections?
You shouldn’t expect immediate results from Botox injections. It usually takes between 2-14 days for the injection to take effect. Some people claim to see an immediate change but this is very unlikely and may be just wishful thinking. Your facial muscle may be particularly strong in the area treated and it may take longer to see and feel the effect. If you have very deep lines where Botox is injected then the injection is unlikely to cause the deeper lines to flatten out completely to start with – especially if you are older when you start Botox.
  • How long does Botox last?
For most of our patients, the effects of the treatment can last anywhere from 3-6 months. Many factors can influence how long the effects last. As the product wears off, muscle action returns gradually, and the previously treated lines & wrinkles may begin to reappear, and need to be treated again. With repeated treatment, the lines and wrinkles often appear less severe than before, as the muscles are being trained to relax. Some of these factors that may shorten or lengthen the effects include: - Your age - The condition of your skin and level of sun damage - Your facial structure and expressions - Your diet - Past experience with Botox of other wrinkle relaxers - And more...
  • Who should not receive Botox injections?
While most people aged 18 to 65 are excellent candidates for Botox and wrinkle relaxers, you should not use Botox if you meet any of the following: - Are pregnant or brestfeeding - Have a skin infection or other condition in the area to be treated - Are allergic to any ingredients in Botox, Dysport, or any other botulinum toxin brand - Have had a facial surgery - Have difficulty swallowing - Have weakness in your forehead muscles - And more...
